I wouldn't tell other coaches what we are going to do, etc. He might not have anything new. But, he at least attempts to keep them guessing. I believe the less a coach says in a microphone, the better off he and his players are.

for some reason i'm a tad bit more optimistic about the offense now. this helps me think we may look like what a sec team should look like against la tech.

Our talent is better than last year, like it has consistently been. Croom just admitted in that interview, that we just haven't had the players, something the Croom Coast Offense critics refuse to take into consideration.

Amazing what an experienced decent QB, a 3-deep of talented RB's, 2-deep of experienced receivers and a fast tight end can do for an offense.

I wonder if we will be able to execute these top secret plays. There is nothing worse than having a good play turn sour because of a fumble between the quarterback and running back. I can see us running some wild play to start the game off only to fumble it and essentially give them a touchdown. That's the Mississippi State that I know.

....coaches make some kind of cryptic statement - team comes out and shows.....SOS. You should know better than to even get a smidgen of hopes up for that.

Dixon runs right
Dixon runs up the gut
Pick a receiver drops a pass

What more could you ask for?

There's no patented fur boy play action sack!

The State I know is so excited to have the ball that we gotta call a timeout.

we come out and actually try to open up a passing attack? I actually will be interested to see if we use any new formations that are similar to the spread. It would be just like Croom to alter his "WCO" to be more open and never actually admit he is trying to adopt a more wide open offensive attack. Yet, it is probably more likely that we have 2 backs around the 100 yard mark Sat with less than 18 throws total. Should be interesting.

We will not show it Saturday. He's going to play as conservative as always trying to get the team adjusted to game speed. If we are winning soundly why waste the few wrinkles we may have. If its a tight game, he knows not to try something cute that may cost us a Loss.

God don't remind me of the '91 Liberty bowl.

The skill we haven't had before quote has me thinking we may see somebody besides a QB taking a snap at some point. Just a hunch. Why waste our "improved" offense against Tech? Or directional Louisiana for that matter? Save it for Auburn and then wow me.

Part of me wants for Croom to not show anything new until we're play our first really hard game - like Auburn. The other part of me wants us to be good at these new plays once we get to play Auburn.

what we saw offensively at Kentucky and Arkansas last year. What happened with that offense?

get better at plays but running them once or twice in a game, you get better at them in practice running them 50+ times. I know that its not 100% live in practice so running them in a game puts more pressure on the players to execute but anybody that has gotten to watch us practice so far will tell you we have been running pretty much 100% live all summer. Running them 1 or 2 times a game will not that much difference in how we execute the plays. If your not prepared on game day it's to late.
