It will not be Dan Mullen. Just ignore those threads. He had a lazy streak in him before he got a huge buyout.

In this age of portal/NIL, recruiting is even harder, a coach has to be in a constant state of evaluating the portal, determining players worth and retaining current players. The days of developing 2/3 stars into 4 stars is over. You send two years developing that 2 star and before his breakout third season he takes a higher NIL deal.

That's what I was thinking about Mullen. His strength was finding under-valued recruits and developing them. They would be great for our NIL recruiting budget, since those type players would be less expensive. But with unlimited transfers, we would essentially be a minor league team for the blue bloods.

What makes you think that is not the case with any coach. We have been actively poached by Kiffin and others for years.
