With each passing day, I get more worried about the La Tech matchup. I get these visions of last year's Oklahoma State-Troy game. Damn offense...

You'd get tired of it after awhile. Your deadline would be way too short especially considering that you have 5 other jobs going on at the same time. And budgetary restraints would always hamper your ability to make it something outstanding. For every fun piece like this, consider that the artist has had to suffer through about 50 other jobs that were about 180 degrees from this one on the coolness factor. I live it day in and day out. It's not as much fun or as rewarding as you might think. Sorry if I burst your bubble. I'm feeling especially negative today. I spent the entire morning in the ER with a work-related injury, so I'll be working well into the evening on a Friday night to make up the 4 hours I missed.

How the hell does a graphic designer get a work-related injury? Were you drawing something on the *** of a wild animal? Sniffing sharpies? Playing swords with an exacto?

You downplay the stress related to being a graphic designer. It can be just as stressful as any other job with a huge workload that requires you to meet impossible deadlines.

that the ER would take people with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Well, they take people with colds, so...</p>

You'd be surprised at how stressful it can be. Sounds like Stansfield either has experience with this or knows someone who does. Imagine you're a chef in a restaurant who has to prepare a new and exciting dish every night, 5 nights a week for as long as you hold the job. It can never be exactly the same. And 4 of those 5 nights every week he's given the same 5 ingredients to work with. This may not be the best analogy, but there is tremendous pressure to create something new every time you start a new project. And on average I'm juggling 5-7 different projects at one time. For Schmuley: It was a much bigger blade than an Xacto knife offers, but that's one of the reasons I do this every day. The DANGER!
