“While I’m all for defiant Jim Harbaugh quotes to spice up what’s been a pretty sleepy football season thus far, this is ludicrous. Treating sign stealing with this level of severity and scrutiny is an insult to the myriad existential issues facing the sport.”I'm reading that college football is stupid and could have prevented this issue. Not sure their suggesting the scandal is stupid.
They really weren't stealing signs. The other teams were just giving them away.
They broke multiple rules. In person scouting is not allowed. Neither is using electronic equipment to film it. Same thing happened with the Astros. Coach was fired, GM fired, largest fine in the history of MLB…guys that were on the te that had moved into coaching had to resign from their jobs. Players got immunity for flipping, but it was a huge deal.Yea, I have a hard time buying the whole “stealing” part of this. These teams show their signs very publicly to other teams, tens of thousands of fans in the stands and live streaming to millions of others each and every week.
If they did it, they broke a rule. But this seems more like a speeding ticket, than a DUI if that makes sense.
