It's one thing that Bama has beaten us 14 straight years. What's more concerning is the way they've done it:
2008 32-7
2009 31-3
2010 30-10
2011 24-7
2012 38-7
2013 20-7
2014 25-20
2015 31-6
2016 51-3
2017 31-24
2018 24-0
2019 38-7
2020 40-0
2021 49-9

2 competitive games out of 14 doesn't cut it. I don't think Bama is better or at least that much better than us this year. But if you're going to let the crowd at Bryant-Denny or the color of their uniforms intimidate you, just let me know and I'll find something else to do. Say what you want about Ole Miss but they generally stand toe-to-toe with whoever the play, giving them their best shot week in and week out, year in and year out.

Just the Devils opinion but I would be more concerned with the immediate future instead of the past. True Bama has made love to State pretty regularly for the last two decades and beyond. The stat that matters is Bama is coming off a loss. I get the feeling that State will be kind of like the goat from original Jurassic Park this week. As we all remember it does end well for the goat.

We needed to "show up" against LSU and KY. This week (and I hate to say this) I'm afraid it won't really matter.

Dear Mike Leach. Please start the practice squad and walk ons. We need what’s left of our depth chart healthy for the rest of the season.

We're going to get embarrassed, aren't we?
I’m doing my inner peace a favor this week by mentally treating it as a bye week. If we’re all fools for not expecting to lose in Lexington and Baton Rouge against mediocre teams, then I won’t even waste my time with a road game in Tuscaloosa against angry Saban

More likely than not but still can finish 8-4. We could see a repeat GA week and if we take care of Auburn 8-4 will still be on the table

Uh....you do know they have 6 Natties and 3 additional CFP appearances in that time period right?

Will do what I've done every year for the last decade during Bama week. I'll work in the yard, ignore my phone completely, but have the game recording just in case...and then later I'll ask my wife to check the score and tell me if I should watch it or delete the recording. I've only watched the recording twice so far.

Please don't miss the main point which is not that we get beat but, rather, we fail to show up. Don't have time to check but I doubt there's another SEC West team that Alabama has pounded over the past 14 years to the extent they have us.

PRBME may have a good idea--just concede the game, play the practice squad/walk ons, and save the starters for the rest of season.

The Mrs and I disagree on what this term means, but I can assure you what Bama has done to us is not this. Plus there are refs and audiences involved.
It's a euphemism in this case. "Made love to" = "went in dry on"

Pretty sure whatever disagreement you and the MRS have is unrelated to the usage in this context.

Dude just forget it, it’s going to be a blowout. Just get out of there healthy.
I hope people aren’t dumb enough to start “fahr the coaches” threads after getting beat at Bama.
this is c+ offensive line and Will can’t move, so that’s the game.

You may want to look at the Bama-UT series during that same time. Not a West Team but a program far more historically successful than ours. Not to mention way more resources and better recruiting. Their results may be worse than ours save this year!

Let's not pretend that Bama hasn't consistently been the best or second best team in the league on a consistent basis with Saban which includes your time period.

It was a swing and a miss of a joke on my part. I knew what he meant.

I'm more of the opinion we need to get thru the game with no injuries and use the bye week to get our heads straight to finish this season strong

I was there in 2017. Two plays go different and we win. One being the ridiculous no call on the receiver going out of bounds on his route.

How many wins do they have against Bama all time. Of course I know they somehow ducked out of playing them back in their "glory days" under Vaught.

Oh my, who could this be? ***

I was a there as a student in 2017. Probably the second worst bitter taste I ever had as a state fan (the first is ole miss 2014). I remember people in the students section were planning on rushing the field. I was so exciting thinking about rushing the field during the 4th Q. In the back of my mind I was terrified though. That was so unwise to even suggest with that much time on the clock. That’s common sense as a state fan. Sure enough everything went as south as it possibly could, and all the hope was deflated. Alabama came roaring back, and won. At least we lost in true Mississippi Sate fashion, by getting our hearts torn out of our chest, then stomped on, and tossed into a burning dumpster full of steaming ****. That’s how I felt after that game. Would love payback one day, but that day ain’t this Saturday. Not after that Kentucky L and Bama losing to Tenn for the first one in 15 years

With the recent injuries @ offensive line and running back we do not pair up with Alabama very well. I hope we can keep it close because our defense plays well at home but I'm afraid we at least lose by 2 to 3 scores since they have Bryce Young back and the same defensive line quality they had last year. They are susceptible to the deep ball but I don't think we'll have time to run those patterns unless we have three or four Will Rodgers to play so we can swap them out. As one goes down we can just send another one in.
