Hard to believe that happed that long ago.
Non Sequitur comment. I forgot that Elmer Bailey played for Miami during that game. Elmer Bailey went to High School in our area. Didn't even connect any dots at the time. Just shocked like everyone else that Lennon died/ was murdered. The only thing I remember was thinking who would murder John Lennon?

I am really getting old Hearing it was 42 years ago. I was in college in NY at the time and my roommate (big Beatles fan) and I went down to the Dakota and spent a few hours outside his building until 2 in the morning. Evening I will never forget.
I was in sixth grade and recall our science class while we were doing experiments. A girl came in with a Pyrex glass wrapped up in newspaper. When she opened the newspaper it was the front page of the Citizens' Voice and the headlines read "John Lennon Shot to Death." I remember the newspaper more than the experiment.
42 years ago today.
My girlfriend, and now wife of 41 years, and I were in Liverpool on December 8, 1980. I'll never forget seeing the newspaper headline there "John Lennon Shot Dead in NYC". The post on this thread showing the announcement on Monday Night Football has got me thinking that because of the time difference maybe we actually saw it on the morning of 12/9, and not on 12/8 as I've always thought.
I just hope the devil has a long, comprehensive activities program for this low-life for when he hits the scene. He should be tortured every day for the rest of eternity. And throw in the scumbag from Columbus who took Dime from us too.
Chapman will never get out of prison, hopefully. He admitted that, yeah, he killed to become famous. Sick f.
