If this means no more DeSanto, then stick a fork in the Hawks. They might not even make the team podium.
Perhaps but I would think Cannon is someone he can handle and help him for seeding purposes. But with an easier dual, perhaps.Probably just protecting his seed. Brands and Ryan are known for getting the best seeds for big tens which is BS. There is no way they should be able to do this ever year and get away with it. They come up with some lamb duck excuse……You will NEVER see Sanderson shy away from good competition.
Nothing was said during broadcast, and it's a logical assumption with a redshirt pulled, but maybe the Hawks are so loaded at the lower weights the next few years that they pulled his shirt to give DeSanto some rest. Maybe with his pace, keeping him fresh could be a wise move. But without any news, it's just speculation. Injured? Kicked off team? Quit team? Rest? Who knows with ADS.

I think that's a pretty bad read in this case. If it was just about protecting seed, why not just forfeit at 133 in a dual that Iowa would win handily in any case?Probably just protecting his seed. DeSanto is also out this Sunday, not about protecting seed.I think that's a pretty bad read in this case. If it was just about protecting seed, why not just forfeit at 133 in a dual that Iowa would win handily in any case?
Maybe Schriever doesn't want to spend 6 years in college?Pulling Schriever's shirt for the Northwestern makes little sense. They didn't need him to beat NW. They already pulled 2 shirts at 125 -- bump up Ybarra. Or send out RS SO Cashman.
But hey, if Brands wants to cost his guys eligibility for no apparent reason ...
That was my thought (in conjunction with the fact they are lightweight-heavy). Give DeSanto some rest on nights when they don't need his points. But seems to be more to the story...Maybe Schriever doesn't want to spend 6 years in college?
DeAugustino got too casual a couple times in the match and Ayala took advantage. Ayala brings some of that DeSanto non-stop energy (but nowhere near ADS), and he's scrappy and tough and talented. Ayala will easily be Top 10 now and no one should take him lightly.seems odd to pull the 'shirt in a dual you should win, especially if DeSanto is just out for a couple of duals.
I didn't watch the dual. Reading the results, it seems that the Ayala - DeAugustino match was a good one.
Ayala looks very good for a true freshman. Iowa couldn't have asked for much more in an immediate replacement for Spencer. Iowa could have been looking at a 25+ point loss at 125, but Ayala looks like he can score some decent points at the National tournament. Unfortunately for Iowa, I think Spencer's loss is just going to be too steep of a deficit to climb out of. Barring any additional injuries to Iowa or Penn State, I think it is Penn State's year.DeAugustino got too casual a couple times in the match and Ayala took advantage. Don't sleep on Michigan. Just sayin'Ayala looks very good for a true freshman. Iowa couldn't have asked for much more in an immediate replacement for Spencer. I think Michigan is a better dual team than tournament team. Suriano is probably their best chance at finalist. Then Paris(but almost zero chance to win) and Amine.Don't sleep on Michigan. Just sayin'
