broadcast. That was only their 2nd win against an AP Top 5 team ever. I thought they had some sort of storied history. We have three that I can remember off the top of my head since I've been around. They have been living about that so called history too it seems.

I don't think that stat is right. Surely Alabama was top 5 in the years when Hugh Freeze beat them back-to-back?

It was their second win against a top 2 AP team ever. The only other one was 2015 at Alabama.
My recollection of the Univ of N MS football history is pretty much limited to today, maybe last weekend, things like the Pi$$ and Miss, AR 3rd & 25, the Wallacing fumble, etc but that's about it

It's not surprising really. Their whole supposed history was prior to integration, and nobody living much remembers that. I'm in my 60s and I don't.
As others have already posted, that stat is wrong. Florida with Tebow, the two wins against Bama, State with Dak.

Y'all are still arguing about stuff over the last few years. What about their supposed "glorious history" complete with three National Titles back in the 50's and 60s? That's the era they really brag about. Not even y'all who defend them here have made the claim they have a real Top Five victory back then. How in the heck do you claim a natty without one? Lies perhaps?
Of corse they have never WON an AP National Championship. They claim a Ladies' Home Journal Title or two. Th confusion is understandable.

The stat they were referencing in the game yesterday was OM was 0-11 all time vs AP top 2 teams at home. Bama was AP #3 (#1 in coaches poll) in 2014 when OM beat them at home.
Because the mindset of trying to compare with them constantly is a big part of what got us where we are. People who think like you and Keenum.
Oh good grief. They are our instate rival. It's not some philosophical issue, it's just rivalry. Get over yourself. We are supposed to talk crap about them and they are supposed to talk crap about us. It's what makes sports fun.
Well, as you have noticed, they don’t really care too much about us at the moment.
Especially in this day and age where rivalries have been deemphasized.
