Look at the ACC now...

I think Swofford was not as sharpe as Roy Kramer or Greg Sankey...

Roy Kramer invited us and Arky right after he took charge...it always seemed to me that Swofford was reactionary to the SEC...

Swofford let Maryland go, could've had us, if he had beaten Kramer to the punch...

The Clemson fans haven't forgotten what he did behind the scenes of getting Clemson that extra year of probation...

He is a UNC grad which is why UNC never got any punishment over the Academic scandals under his watch...

Please add any comments as to why you think he was bad or good for the ACC...

No doubt that his primary concern was Tobacco Road to the exclusion of every one else.

With the rich basketball history the ACC has with UNC, Duke, NC State and Wake the ACC will stand put and hope Notre Dame joins as a full fledged member. Only makes sense. Then the revenue from media rights will jump. Notre Dame will be the key. The NFL also as if they needed got extra media rights from amazon for Thursday night games. Would not be suprised if Amazon could not be part of the media rights revenue stream.

The ACC has some really great properties - adding Notre Dame keeps them together. And if the Big 10 can reach across the country, then why not the ACC? Cal and Stanford would make the ACC a legit power that could hold up as a "power conference" next to the SEC and Big 10.

I would bet that the B1G has already had conversations with Cal and Stanford as well as Oregon, Washington and Colorado while waiting to see what UND does. I'd be even more surprised if the SEC hasn't reached out to some of the PAC-10 schools also. Obviously SoCal and UCLA were a response to UT and OU but both conferences are waiting to see an explosion of activity. Who knows....could even see Mizzou vying for a spot in the B1G where they've always wanted to be.

I doubt the PAC-10 and Big 12 are sitting pat either. I would guess each conference is having discussions with the other conference's members.

This could get very, very interesting.

Unless the ACC makes a move to stay relevant, then yes, it would appear so!! If the B1G or SEC take the top Universities from the ACC, they will be relegated to a Conf USA in the future.
