The best college team ever is focused on getting better.
With the scoring record, the points vs the field record and two guys becoming 4 timers, one would have to be a pretty drunk homer to argue against this being the best college team ever. These comparisons are interesting things for fans. Every staff is waking up today saying, how do we get better.
Somebody with access to a ton of data could do an analysis of the 2-10 positions, but there certainly appears to be pretty tight bunching among the other top teams. Lot's of really great performances get hidden as guys battle for a few points for themselves and their teams.
OSU is going to be good next year. Really good. I am not sure about any other team......other than Iowa. I am not sure I noted a ton of young talent on that squad. Maybe they have an influx of talent.

Terrific job with your articles and coverage Gregg, we appreciate it. As a newer fan, I vote yes best team ever, Iowa fans can complain about the scoring changes gave us the point total, but 100 point over the #2? That is dominance that can’t be argued- so yes, greatest team ever.
Starth, you're spot on. The competition for 2-10 will unfairly get lost in the talk about Penn State's historic season and tournament, but it was a really healthy year for college wrestling overall without question.

Who wants to bet that over on Hawkeye Report they’re saying our records don’t count because of the 3pt TD.
Both wrestlers can score 3 point TD’s.
All 3 Academies have AA's for the first time since 2003. Plus this Little Rock showing off some big stones.
If I were in charge, I would shorten the season by one weekend........and not go up against hoops. I would make sure more of Nationals was available and never break away after a match is over. Show the joy of victory and the crush of defeat and the amazing amount of mutual respect these warriors have for each other. Too many times on the matcast or whatever it was they stopped the view.....very dumb.
I would also force ESPN to provide all the mat feeds for free........for one year. It would benefit everyone over the longer horizon.
I would never let Jordan Burroughs anywhere near a mike. He talks about himself way too much. He might be the best ever, but not at announcing.
Some final perspective, the largest Super Bowl victory margin was 45 points. Niners vs the Broncos, 1990. We beat the old record by 33%ish 100 vs 75 or 25 points. We just won the Super Bowl by 60 points.
The one thing that no one can account for is the transfer portal. Yes, we will be loaded, how loaded depends on who decides to come back. OSU is going to be good with the talent they have, but who knows what they can bring in through the portal. Iowa is down this year but they will figure things out and most likely hit the portal, as well.
Tom Ryan likes them home grown. I haven't much action from them on the portal. Iowa is already shopping.
