Yep. Looks like, you'll get about 2 plays per game minute with this new rule(s). Maybe 3 if you hurry. The clock doesn't stop when you go out of bounds except the last 2 minutes? What kind of crap is that? I knew about the 1st down rule but damn not even OOB?
They have needed to do this for a long time. The clock was stopped way too much in the college game in the past
The clock stops momentarily on out of bounds but restarts when they set the ball, unless it’s the final two minutes. Same rules they’ve had in the last couple years. The new rule is the clock running on first downs except in the final two minutes of each half.

That’s been the rule for a while. It stops until the ball is reset for play outside of 2 minutes. The clock doesn't stop when you go out of bounds except the last 2 minutes? What kind of crap is that? I knew about the 1st down rule but damn not even OOB?
Yeah, when I was posting positive things about shortening the games over the last couple years, I didn’t mean that I wanted them to do it so that we could then have 2x as many commercialsAnd yet, shockingly, the games seem to still be over 3 hrs. $$$$
I'd have preferred 1 if the 2, not both at the same time.
Likely an attempt to make more time for commercials. The clock doesn't stop when you go out of bounds except the last 2 minutes? What kind of crap is that? I knew about the 1st down rule but damn not even OOB?
That was my first thought.Shortening the game might work to our advantage when playing the blue bloods. They always have more quality depth than we do.
