Gonna be interesting to see how much these guys can contribute next year. I mean obviously I'm no talent evaluator and there are guys in the NFL that played at small schools and were 2 star high school guys but the percentages are very low. Big big difference between the competition at N Illinois and Eastern Michigan and jumping to the SEC. I hope they all show out and get it done tho

I’d rather take a guy who has produced at a G5 school (Fluff from South Alabama) than a 4-star who couldn’t get on the field at a P5. But yeah, we’ll have a lot of misses in this class, and I mean a lot. We’re trying to make that up with volume. We’ll see how it works out.

Look at any school, Alabama, Michigan whomever.... they have P4 and G5 incoming.

I have a prediction that fans will come to ignore the transfer portal drama in years to come. We will get use to losing some and gaining some and just waiting for the season to see the net effect.

Used to be a recruit follower - never contacted a kid or his family directly, but obsessed over it --- So 17n glad I let that **** go.

And, yes, Johnnies and Joes are more important than Xs and Os, but you really don't know what players are going to do week in and week out. Ask Lane Kiffin.

It's all about culture and effort. You need a leader as a coach who can find the right staff and players to build that.
And ain't nothing I can do but give money and hope it's invested well.

I am still a recruit follower but it's not the same for sure. There was a time when I would be screaming from the rooftops if we got a guy like KaMario Taylor. this guy may have the most upside of any QB ever I have ever seen at State but I am not sure he stays a year much less if he has a break out year and he gets offered millions to leave. I mean, what would you do if you were making great money but someone offered you 10 times the amount. My *** would be gone, I don't know about you.

I actually follow it a lot more now than I used to because the days of evaluating and developing players are pretty much over. You better be bringing in players who are ready to produce immediately because they'll probably be in the transfer portal next year. I don't go so far as to remember players actual names, but I do look at the star rankings and for transfers where they came from and what their production there was.

That's a quantity ranking. #17 in average player rating. And 8-way tie for 13th in number of 4* transfers.
Seventeen in average player rating while also having a lot of quantity sounds outstanding considering where our talent was this season.
