Stopped by to check out progress on the construction while walking back to my car after class, and snapped some pics while talking to some of the workers.
Seems some modifications to the original plans, only one i heard for sure was the possibility of building the board 30' from the m-seal club front and connecting back the whole way instead of the spec'd 25'.
Dirt work and removal of all trees has been finished, and seems everything is in-line for the real work to begin now.

New pics of progress..nothing much change minus some trees, but did get some pics of markings for the outline of the size (I enhanced them to make the marks more visible.)
and have pics of the sewer pipe that will have to be re-located, it looked as if it had been there since before the field house had been built.

it does appear that the manhole has been there a while...not too many bricked up manholes nowadays. I say cap it and keep the construction rolling.</p>

It took about two months from dirtwork to get the one at USM up and running. It did work for the first game last year, but wasn't finished out with the final decorative coverings, etc. It is a remarkable improvement to the game experience. You guys will enjoy it. And when they say HD, they mean HD.

..we won't make our own team run by the visitors section to and from the dressing room.

and let our players run down it. That way, we could put the visitors on the south end. Instead of Howard's Rock, we could have the players touch Cristil's whiskey flask.

I thought about that, but figured that the rest of the stadium would drown them out, especially if noise or music is being piped out the new HD board speakers.

I forget which year......86 or 88. Anyway, we played Bama in Starkville and the baseball bleachers had been moved to the football field and placed at each end. Bama had a large crowd as usual. They filled up the endzone bleachers. So, our players ran through a bleacher full of Bama fans as they took the field.

I talked with someone from my hometown who works for Capturion (contractors building our board). He told me everything they needed for construction was on hand and that his boss said they wanted to be in and out as quickly as possible (costs money to keep crews out of town). We'll see, but he said weather pending, it could be up by the middle of September...God I hope so..

...Doc Foglesong is smiling at the thought of all of that vegetation wiped out and carted off.
