First drive was well executed but officials delay to set the chains put a damper on that initial momentum - need to maintain this execution of that plan on the first drive going forward.
Thought the Arky offense was going to run us out of the stadium early but defensive adjustments were made which is encouraging - injuries on defense are concerning.
Nice comeback to get us in position in the second half but the fumble on extra effort by Lloyd and an excellent hit by the defense was a heartbreaker and killed the momentum we had gained.
Special teams took a step back from last week's great performance.
Rattler is just a bit off on the long ball yesterday which was there and open for the taking - need to work on getting this fixed and finding other receivers (where was Vann and Joyner yesterday). Juice Wells and Brown were impressive as was Brooks last week.
Team effort was there until the end and this could have been over in the first half but we hung in there and came back.
Hopefully we play up to the competition next week as we have been know to do. Lots of top teams went down yesterday.

They just don’t play with confidence. They don’t attack. They are also very poor tacklers. As Holtz used to say, they don't arrive with a bad attitude. I don’t want to turn this thing political, but the touchy, feely persona of Beamer isn’t going to cut it. That attitude works nowhere in a competitive environment. Especially in football where the team that wins is typically the team that shows up with the intent to stomp the **** out of the opponent.

I can agree with that somewhat. Watching Kentucky vs FL, those defenses were vicious tacklers. Need to show our defense some film. White has done a pretty good job but we do need to be more aggressive overall, defensively and offensively.

Lots of fundamental mistakes that you have to do to win ball games! We have some skill players, but no time to get the ball to them! I haven’t seen a pocket to throw from yet! Lloyd need to run more like juju, run through the tackle don’t stop momentum annd dance, plus we’re not creating any running lanes, our backs are getting most every yard on there own!
Our tackling is not good, we swarm to the ball and then arm tackle! Can somebody coach edge containment, it’s like we have nobody out there ga. St. Exposed it and no adjustment was made week two! The game was over early when arky showed dominance on boyh side of the ball, and we knew that was going to be the plan before game time!

Wow, yall bow up pretty big after a win against a midlin acc team that could easily have won the game! So much that you find time to come on the team you pick last in your divisions message board and talk ****! You need to spend more of your free time with your therapist! Might want to concern yourself more with finishing better than 3rd in your own division!

Beamer isn't the guy. I don't know how anyone could look at that guy and think he's going to be the one to lead us back to success. The dude looks like a middle school teacher. One possible bright spot, Rhule could be on his way out at Carolina. If they lose their first game, at home against Cleveland, he's done. I'm sure Rhule would rather go back to college. Just throwing that out there.

Thats all Dumbo is…worked well for him. Being positive does not mean soft. I always tell people never confuse my kindness for weakness. It would be a mistake. Or you could go with a Muschamp type personality….we see how that worked out. Then there’s the Frank Martin approach…..no thanks. Beamer keeps telling the their reps dictate there reps…..that’s what it needs to be.

Your “coach” wasn’t even disappointed. He doesn’t have a clue what he is doing and should be reassigned to the spirit squad. With this guy you all will be lucky to finish the season 4-8. Your recruiting is going to fall off a cliff and the next hire is going to be tough because of the shape he leaves the program in. We spent the last 15 years keeping the Dooleys, Jones and Pruitts on the job too long and it all but destroyed the program. The best thing, in hindsight would have been for us to have fired Dooley year 2, got rid of the AD and anyone that had anything to do with that hire and stopped the insanity. Beamer is not head coach material and never will be, he just isn’t cut out for it. Cut your losses and go hire a decent HC and athletic ditector as soon as possible.
He will probably beat your sorry asses this year.

Beating GT and Furman has them drinking that orange "licker" again. Give Beamer some time. Remember, Spurrier was wiping the floor with Blabo for years until he found some assistants to bail him out.
You do realize he is a Tennessee fan right?

You're Professional Titans just lost to the NY Giants. You are not getting the rise out of us over here with your transparent attempts. Go fester over the Titans on their site. Somewhere else you probably don't belong

Not that anyone here cares but here is how we ended up with our unique shade of orange. When General Neyland was here the first time the hill on the north side of the field was covered in daisies. He decided that orange and white on the hill would be our school colors moving forward. You all should hear the crying and gnashing of tongues when we wear the black or gray uniforms!
I think it was probably because your color was yellow and everyone made fun of you so you threw a dash of red pigment in it. But daisies would fit.

He’s been here a freaking year. 5 game improvement over Muschump in year one. Give him a freaking break and stop being one of those message board geniuses that want a coach fired per drive. Beamer is recruiting well. Dabo also has an alumni base that pays players. That’s why he hates NIL and transfers. It will take away his financial advantage.

It was just about as Gamecock of a performance as we’ve ever seen. Not good enough to win but just good enough to give hope that we could improve.

Nobody said anything about firing Beamer. I merely pointed out to the “whatabout Dabo”crowd that the guy recruited well and fired underperforming coaches. Reading anything other than that into my post is insecure.

But if you want to talk about the actual coaching job our guy is doing so far, I’ll engage if you want.

i wasn’t implying you were wanting to fire Shane….was using the analogy of how fans react. I can see how you thought that relooking at my post. Sorry about that… my bad. It was a metaphor to what’s wrong with fandom these days.

To your point, there was no one who needed firing after year one. We will see how things shake out if changes need to be made. So far this year, play calling has been good and execution off. Defense just needs more talent to go with a good base (not great base). Shane made some calls last year I disagreed with….but this year I see all college coaches basically doing much I disagree with…(ex: going on 4th down at your own 40 in a one score game with tons of time left).

We will see how this year goes and after Saturday, every game is winnable if we perform until the taters. We can also lose a bunch of games. I hold out hope of 9-3.

We had major momentum after forcing an Arkansas punt on their opening drive of the second half, then scoring a TD of our own on our first drive to make it 21-16, in a game which we had been thoroughly outplayed. Then our D actually came up with a stop on 4th down deep in our own territory on Arky's next drive to give our offense the ball back. As shocking as it seemed to be, we were actually in a position to take the lead in the game.

Instead, what followed was a thoroughly discombobulated offensive series that saw us go 3 and out and lose 12 yards. Arkansas would turn in another double-digit play TD drive on their next series to go back up by 2 scores and never looked back.

We were presented with an opportunity to make a statement, but we bumbled the opportunity.

I doubt that Beamer’s public persona has anything to do with any player’s demeanor when he tackles an opponent. That being said, improvement along the lines of physicality and technique are definitely in order.

It makes for good conversation, but it’s true that a team often takes on the persona of the coach. Shame seems like a great guy, but maybe too nice. The last really nice guy who won was John Wooden, but I think reality didn’t exactly match his persona.

Well, Beamer is going to be here a while, considering coaching history of the last 30 years. Lou and Steve were great, but both came in late in their careers and both stayed a bit too long. Muschamp was a complete disaster. All good head coaches surround themselves with quality coordinators and position coaches. I think Beamer has had great opportunities to learn from some very good coaches. Did he and will he be able to put those learning opportunities to good use? Only time will tell.
