We are going to see a good many new players which should by itself make this bowl game interesting.

They need to leave Luketa @ DE, especially if AK opts out. He is effective there, not very effective @ MLB.

Yep, that's how I see it. Use this game to see who next year's LB's will potentially be, not to make DE even weaker.........

Good point made in this article - If King fills in at MLB for Brooks he will forfeit his redshirt. Could Elsdon and Katshir play for Brooks and Smith and play the whole game, potentially be backed up by the walk on Chizmar? Has Buddin played in 4 games, or could he take some snaps for Jacobs allowing Jacobs to slide inside giving Elsdon and/or Katshir plays off. Seems like it would be worth it for King to play most of a game and burn his redshirt, as the experience would seem to be a big step in his maturation necessary to try and win a starting LB position going into 2023.

I think King's RS should have already been burned. If he's any good, he's not staying for a 5th year. If he's not any good, he's going to the portal so why do we care.

Yep, the field LB position (Sam), subbing for Jacobs. But I never heard anyone say that they believed he played it well......

I am expecting Jacobs plays the WILL. He is probably going to play there next season. Our best LB will be able to stay on the field. King needs to play. They can use this game as the start of the competition between Elsdon and King for MLB. Buddin is the odds on favorite to play the SAM next season, if Jacobs is moved to WILL. Burn all the shirts! The benefits for next year outweighs the possible extra year for a player that probably will not use it.

Yep, and it does not hurt to bank the redshirt so that if a player gets injured as a 4th year player he has the option to return and prove he is the same player for the NFL while starting another year at PSU........
