If we can't keep MVB for next season - I'd roll with Shapen and let KaMario Taylor be our QB of the future. If Shapen gets hurt - then go with Taylor or a portal backup QB.

If MVB stays - either him or Taylor will eventually transfer to get more PT and I'd rather hold on to the Mississippi kid because he would be more likely to stay long term. It's a small bit of a risk because we have seen what MVB can actually do in the SEC.

Now if both stay - may the best QB win in 2025 and going forward.

What about the Okie QB? Speculation he'll be signing with us. Not sure Van Buren will get the big money offer to transfer out this year. He's still at least a year away from being a good QB.

That's the catch 22 these days. You cant have 2 or 3 decent QBs because they all want to start and think they should be. And of course they can bail out anytime they like. Same with any position. That's what I was thinking last year when Lebby signed that awesome WR group. Then turned around and signed some good portal guys. You ain't keeping 8 4star WR period. They all want the ball and you only have one ball. You ain't keeping 2 or 3 4 star QBs either. I hate it.

Well seems as if we've lost Taylor so if we also lose MVB what are we to do

If we can’t keep MVB, Lebby should be fired. He’s an alleged offensive guru, he let Rogers and Parson walk, and he’s been grooming MVB to be the future for his offense ever since Shapen went down. If he seriously cannot even get his freshman starting QB to stick around for another year, all while he clearly isn’t focused on about a hundred other areas either, I really don’t even know what we’re doing here

MVB wants big bucks to stay...don't think we should let him walk, but he wants a pretty penny.
i dont think its anything crazy.

I think he came in probably with little to no NIL money. He's now the starting QB of an SEC program. Those players get paid... so its whether or not we want to pay him to be the starter.. or someone else.

I dont think its anything crazy like teams are unloading the bank or anything like that to get the kid. I think he just wants to be paid as a starting SEC QB... and if another school seems him as a starter and wants to pay him as such.. then we've got a decision to make.

In this day of college sports-- the above is pretty normal

MVB wants insane amount of money for his worth. Also hearing that Arnold and the BI have been in negotiations since September.

Letting Noodle, Mike Wright, and now Parson walk is the BEST thing Lebby could have done. You don’t knock him for those losses.
