We should be excited about the next 3+ months. We have a contender. I always like to divide schedules up to take a good look at them. With an 18-game schedule, it makes sense to divide into thirds. With that being said:

Opening third

South Carolina
at Vanderbilt
Kentucky
at Auburn
Ole Miss
at Tennessee

3 home games, 3 away games, but four straight against currently ranked teams and five consecutive Q1 games.

Must Wins: South Carolina, Ole Miss
Should Win: at Vanderbilt
Would be Nice: Kentucky
Will be Tough: at Auburn, at Tennessee

We need to find a way to start off at least 3-3. If we can pull off that Kentucky game at home, we have a real shot at 4-2. Win one of the road games against the current top two teams in the nation and we will have no place to hide.

Middle third

at South Carolina
Alabama
Missouri
at Georgia
Florida
at Ole Miss

Another even 3-3 split, but the home games are tougher than the road games. This is where we will earn our seed. There's a real shot to go 3-0 on the road in this group of games. That would be huge for the NET

Must Wins: Missouri
Should Win: at South Carolina, at Georgia
Toss Up: at Ole Miss
Tough Home Games: Alabama, Florida

Final third

Texas A&M
at Oklahoma
at Alabama
LSU
Texas
at Arkansas

We should be favored in all except at Alabama, unless Oklahoma surprises folks and isn't overrated (undefeated but sub 40 NET right now says they are fake). Can we close out 4-2 or 5-1?

Must Wins: A&M, LSU, Texas
Should Split at Worse: at Oklahoma, at Arkansas
Tough Road Game: at Alabama

What a grind, but I like it. It’s like the old school Big East. Play our game, we will be fine.

Time for all of us to do our part.

Our biggest part is showing up to the Hump, the next biggest part is to not overreact if we get off to a slow start or when we drop unexpected games.

I’m glad Average SixPackers don’t play college basketball because we’d be doomed right here.

I’d expect a surprise loss and a surprise win in each Third.
