Not pulling for om at all, but they do have a punchers chance. And I don't mean Dayton. Dayton is not in.
Could Texas A&M take our spot if they go on a run? Are we pulling for Ole Miss today?
Dayton is trash, we all know it.1. Dayton is in and you’re just making **** up if you say it’s not. Been a 68 team field for 13 years now.
2. I think we’re above the Dayton line. Get killed tomorrow and have bid stealers then we maybe could end up in Dayton. But at the moment, no we’re not a Dayton team.
I hope we receive one of the sixty byes.1. Dayton is in and you’re just making **** up if you say it’s not. Been a 68 team field for 13 years now.

2, which yes is multiple: VCU in 2011 and ucla in 2021. It's still a gimmick, and virtually no one cares about it. 64 or GT17ONobody wants to be there but the point remains that if you’re in there you’re still in. I realize it was a 64/65 team field the last time our fans cared about hoops. But those last four teams in are still in. There have been multiple Final Four teams that only got in via the Dayton route.

I would argue nobody really cares about anything but the sweet 16. Making a the tourney is a huge deal because there is so much luck involved once you get there. Make the tourney enough and you will catch lightning in a bottle at some point. Yes, you get some recognition as a team that is always there, but I'm not sure you get much recognition if you don't occasionally make a run to at least the sweet 16. All of the midmajor teams I remember being consistent tournament teams back when we were relevant in basketball made sweet 16 runs. I can't think of a team that consistently won their conference tournament in a one bid league to make the league but didn't make a sweet 16. I'm not sure if that's because you are going to make a sweet 16 if you are consistently in the tournament, or if you just don't get lasting recognition from consistently checking out in the first weekend.2, which yes is multiple: VCU in 2011 and ucla in 2021. I don’t understand the whole playing in the first 4 is not really in the tournament. What the hell do you call it then?1. Dayton is in and you’re just making **** up if you say it’s not. Been a 68 team field for 13 years now.

Im all for going to 96 or even 128. Just don't make some small number of games a sideshow. You’re really gonna hate it when they expand to 72 or 76 in a few years.
It kind of sucks, it’s like going 6-6 and making the weed wacker bowl and playing La TechI don’t understand the whole playing in the first 4 is not really in the tournament. What the hell do you call it then?
I don't think a quality loss means **** right now.I suggest we not shat the bed vs (I meant TN)
Need a strong, we belong showing, IMO.
Dayton is trash, we all know it.
Haha well I can understand the analogy but I think that’s just the product of a mediocre season. Would you rather the season result in a first 4 game or the NIT?It kind of sucks, it’s like going 6-6 and making the weed wacker bowl and playing La Tech
Its much, much more prestigious than that. There are only 36 at-large bids to the NCAA tournament out of over 300 teams. Like 80 teams play in bowl games / CFP out of only 130ish total. It kind of sucks, it’s like going 6-6 and making the weed wacker bowl and playing La Tech
Only 60? Dayton is bullsh*t without a win.I hope we receive one of the sixty byes.
Ok you take your play-in game trophy and skip off into the sunset. that’s an embarrassing take. Its much, much more prestigious than that. There are only 36 at-large bids to the NCAA tournament out of over 300 teams. Like 80 teams play in bowl games / CFP out of only 130ish total.
Go to 96. Eliminate the useless NIT. All conferences get 2 bids. One for regular season title, one for tournament title. If one team wins both, next best overall record gets 2nd bid.Im all for going to 96 or even 128. Just don't make some small number of games a sideshow.
And that is why you need to be the top 35 to rest assured to get in. (At Large). 64/68 is more than enough to determine a champion. Its much, much more prestigious than that. If you’re a P5 team and you use prestigious in the same sentence as the play-in game, it is kind of embarrassing.Embarrassing is in the eye of the beholder.
Behold a mirror.
What is sad is that MSU has fans that don't think we made the tournament last season because MSU lost in the 'play-in' game.Ok you take your play-in game trophy and skip off into the sunset. that’s an embarrassing take.
Not following you here man. I agree with you on most things, but we made the NCAA tournament last year. Sucks we lost and didn’t make the big viewing weekend but in the books, we were a tournament team.Ok you take your play-in game trophy and skip off into the sunset. that’s an embarrassing take.
I have never said that making the play in game Is not making the tournament. What is sad is that MSU has fans that don't think we made the tournament last season because MSU lost in the 'play-in' game.
That right there is 17ing pathetic.
Teams that play in Dayton are in the 'first four' of the tournament. That would be the opposite of the 'final four'. See how the NCAA even adjusted things to make it have a fun little term that matches the other rounds of the tournament?
