Now I'm no Sokoloff, but I figured and understood (from my source) that Lane and Sexton were going to milk the folks in Oxford for as much as they could --- and they did.
Lane has a fat/phat contract to sign that will likely keep him in Oxford for at least four more years. It is a contract that the Weebels cannot afford to rescind at this point, even though there are plenty that would like to. Lane will sign it next week.
It is possible that Auburn may still be in play for Lane if the money is right. But, facts are facts, Auburn is a final destination job. You don't go up from Auburn. Lane is hoping to end up somewhere else and until then, Oxford will have to do.
