Do you think CJF allows Clifford to change plays?

I ask this because on our first (or second?) drive of the game it was third and one and Clifford is over center. The formation was set up for short yardage but there is no Michigan lineman against Wormley at right guard. The opening is there and if Clifford takes the snap and goes behind him it’s almost a guarantee he gets the yard. One yard. Instead it’s a hand off to Singleton who loses two yards. Why doesn’t he call an audible there based on what the d was giving him? Between a decision like that the stupid corner fade on 3rd and 4 inside the Michigan 10 on opening drive of the second half the play calling was abysmal.

It’s clear that Clifford is making a lot of pre snap adjustments. That said, I’m not sure if it’s just blocking scheme or new play.

As far as I know, college QBs don't generally have as much freedom to call audibles as pro QBs, but veteran college QBs are given more freedom to do so. Clifford is a 6th year Redshirt Senior+ QB. If he doesn't have the freedom to call audibles, something's amiss.

i heard the NCAA might grant Clifford a medical redshirt so he can play again next year.

The problem with your thread is that you assume that Franklin is aware of the play call.
