Does anyone have a connection to Franklin on possible recruit?

Punxsutawney has an 8th grader who has a very strong leg. Kick offs routinely go into end zone. More impressive is his field goals. His longest this year was 47 & 45 yards.
Repeating, he is just in 8th grade.

I think the team needs to be aware of him and do their thing if they're interested

there are companies that will market him and get him a scholarship offer (PSU or other). Camps are another thing he should look at to increase his brand

This past summer PSU sponsored a one day football specialist camp. It would make sense they'd do the same next summer. If he goes to that and kicks the way you say he does, I'm sure the coaching staff will hear about it. Information can be found on the athletics website link below.

Handing out scholarships to kickers based on HS performance is generally not the best use of a scarce resource.

@GregPSU -- the suggestions about attending the PSU specialist camp, and attending the Kohls Kicking Camp, are the best approaches.

If the kid does like PSU, he should fill out a PSU questionnaire for recruits, at:

Lastly, it's up to the kid (and his parents and his HS coaches) to market the kid. He/they should set up a HUDL account, upload highlights film, and send that to schools he's interested in.

If he follows a combination of the above, PSU will know all about him by the time he's a junior, when things start getting serious with regards to recruiting.
