All these years I have often wondered if AA OT Keith Dorney later of Detroit Lions fame... Was related to the people who ran Dorney Park. Keith resided in Allentown. Does anyone know?

It appears that Keith Dorney's great, great, great grandfather Solomon founded Dorney Park in the late 19th century. Dorney Park was sold in the early 1900s but kept the name.

Got this information from what I believe to be Keith's father's obituary.

Joe named many of the fine Lehigh Valley players who played for him over the years, including lineman Keith Dorney, who also played in the NFL.

“I was nice to Dorney when I had [young] kids, because I thought he owned Dorney Park,” JoePa said. (By then, of course, the Dorney family had long since sold the Allentown amusement park.)
