Does Auburn getting thumped by NMS put more pressure on Bama to put a beat down?

If they barely win what message does that send the CFP committee?

Might be where you were going…is Bama guaranteed to make the CFP if they finish 12-1 and beat Georgia? Is there any scenario that the SEC would be completely left out?

Undefeated B1G champ
Undefeated ACC champ FSU
Undefeated PAC 12 champ Washington
1-loss Big XII champ Texas that beat Bama in Bama

I don’t think so. Bama’s path to the playoff is simple. Win SEC & hope FSU or Texas loses.

Edit: They do have to beat Auburn. Win SEC with 2 losses and they're out for sure.

The committee would never admit it but they would love to leave out an SEC team. Other than the south there is a lot of SEC fatigue.

There's a lot of a fatigue, but fair or not, the championship will almost have an asterisk by it if they leave out a 12-1 SEC champion. I'm sure the playoff committee is hoping for UW, Texas, or FSU to lose, because they are going to be in a no win situation if they have to choose between leaving the SEC out and putting the SEC in over a 12-1 UT that beat Bama on the road.
