Also - I don't see scanning at the gates causing longer lines. I've seen this done in many places and its been quick and efficient - usually more efficient than handing a paper ticket, having it torn in half, and handed back.
I like the concept to promote involvement with BC points. OLYMPICS? What's up with that?
We have mentioned during several alumni functions around the state that we will be starting a fan rewards program. Beginning this fall, the Bulldog Club will be sending a "Dog Tag" card to all active members. That card will have a bar code on the reverse side, much like a grocery store card you might have on your key chain. Members who attend Olympic sporting events on our campus, will have the opportunity to have their card scanned, and will be rewarded with priority points for attendance at those events. Ultimately, this will provide another opportunity for Bulldog Club members to increase their priority point total and raise their rank for seating and parking purposes. More details will be coming your way soon.

Scanning will also be used to validate football tickets at the Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field admission gates. This will enable you to purchase individual game tickets on-line and print the tickets at home. It will also reduce the amount of counterfeit tickets that are passed at gates entering the stadium on game day. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the gates earlier than usual and use the gate that is closest to your seat location. These scanning devices are identical to those used at other SEC stadiums and numerous professional sports venues.
