JD McPherson opened up for Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and was in their stage band also the other night in Philly. He is a rock-a-Billy, old time rock and roll player and he has a unique custom TK Smith guitar

No trade secrets here, but it's good to see what fingerings he uses on the solo for anyone trying to learn it. Definitely interesting phrasing that he uses.
Changing keys to a song to fit the singer is super common. It's why capos were made. Often you will hear bands lower the key through the years as the singer ages.
