We are just noticing that we have the same record as WF after much more of a gauntlet schedule. Why should WF or LSU be #1? People only think that because they started the season with higher expectations. How would Wake or LSU drop while winning their series? People keep acting like Wake is not good because they aren't in the SEC. They're a very good team.
Bingo! We are just noticing that we have the same record as WF after much more of a gauntlet schedule. Why should WF or LSU be #1? People only think that because they started the season with higher expectations.
Look at RPI and SOS in addition to recordsHow would Wake or LSU drop while winning their series? People keep acting like Wake is not good because they aren't in the SEC. They're a very good team.
Baseball America has us at #2, so that's better. But I think there comes a time when you look at what a team has done. And we're at that time with a month left in the season. We're tied for the best record in baseball, with being #1 in the RPI and the #2 SOS in the country. Wake is good. But they're not deserving of a higher ranking that USC, nor is LSU. LSU is ranked ahead of us b/c they were better than us last year. Same with Wake. I'm sorry, but I think that's ludicrous. Wake won 2 of 3 against unraked Pitt. LSU swept 14th in the SEC Ole Miss (playing 3 close games). We swept #3 in the country, run ruled them one game, and they never lead at the end of an inning the entire weekend (missing 3 of 4 starting infield for 2 of those games). All 3 teams were very similar heading into the weekend. Coming out of the weekend, one team looks much different than the other 2.How would Wake or LSU drop while winning their series? True, but the higher ranked teams get better matchups in the regionals/supers. So you want that #1 overall seed.I say let's stay at #2, it will keep the boys focused to achieve another pre-post season goal and it may have tightening effect on LSU.
Like has been said rankings don't matter now, just get that national seed.
Is LSU is still #1 because of a rain out in the 3rd game of our series?Baseball America has us at #2, so that's better. But I think there comes a time when you look at what a team has done. I get that none of it matters until the last poll, but if you don't think they players and program benefit from being the #1 program in the country you're kidding yourself. They deserve it. And it's stupid that it's not happening just b/c that's where LSU started.
We should absolutely be #1. LSU is #1 b/c we had to cancel game 3 of our series. But sure should be #2 when the poll comes out!⚾️
I'm confident we would have taken that series. That would have been huge. As it sits now, it's just a split 1-1. Big difference. Is LSU is still #1 because of a rain out in the 3rd game of our series?
I like it when you talk dirty. The only poll I care about is the final poll.
The final poll is certainly the one which matters most, but I would like to be at least in the top 8 at the conclusion of the SECT, i.e., be a national seed. The only poll I care about is the final poll.
