Damn…hate to hear that no matter how his career played out…couldn’t been more than 44 or 45.
This hits me harder than I thought it would have
Who remembers this from the 1999 season from the CL?
I think they were passing them out outside the game immediately afterward. I know they did after one game before we lost.
Last news I had heard on him, he had really turned things around the last 10 years or so.
Yes, it was after beating UK I believe. As soon as you walked out of the stadium they were passing them out. I still have mine.

I will never forget that 2000 Florida game, when he and Dicenzo Miller each ran for 160 yards or so. I think the whole team was over 400 yards rushing.
Still have it in the bedroom at my parents' house. I was senior in high school that year.
If I remember correctly, he didn‘t start on Senior day and left the field prior to the end of the gam. I am not sure if it was Rick Cleveland or the other big sports writers (Hampton?) that did the article on Donte the next year where he was going to try to get drafted. He had lost a ton of weight and got in incredible shape. I really thought with his talent he had a chance to make it.

Aside from any personal issues he was battling, Jackie had lost the locker room by then. There was zero disciple or accountability on those teams.
