With the way the season started it was kind of a surprise that they made it as far as they did.
Go Blue Devils!!
Matt was my teammate.I remember going to their games when Matt Suhey was their stud running back. Neat place to watch a high school football game.
Former Little Lion myself. My sister was in the same graduating class as Matt and played in the band (I recall them playing Anchors Away even though we weren't remotely near water). When they played Cedar Cliff, my grandparents drove me down so we could walk from my uncle's house to the stadium. Great season capped off with a PA state championship!Matt was my teammate.
State College School District just recently completed a 9 million dollar upgrade to their stadium and it's really nice now. Same location on Frazier as the old one.I remember going to their games when Matt Suhey was their stud running back. Neat place to watch a high school football game.
The State High fight song is to the tune of anchors aweigh but different lyricsFormer Little Lion myself. A friend of mine graduated in ‘62 and played QB for the Little Lions. He committed $1,000,000 to the renovation and was acknowledged at a game in October. I kid him that I stopped by the stadium and the plaque says the Mr. and Mrs. “insert name” Public Rest Rooms! (I’ll keep his name private). Bad thing, he doesn’t like Paterno…At All!State College School District just recently completed a 9 million dollar upgrade to their stadium and it's really nice now. Seems fiscally irresponsible as that land could have sold for >10 million which could have been used to build a new stadium at the high school. Parking wouldn't be a mess and team could use the facility right after school without transportation. But, the money spent wasn't owned by those spending the money so it was no problem.
Then I saw you, too. But didn’t know it. Small world.Matt was my teammate.
Something to be said about tradition. Thanks for filling me in.State College School District just recently completed a 9 million dollar upgrade to their stadium and it's really nice now. Same location on Frazier as the old one.

The reason for not liking Joe would be what?A friend of mine graduated in ‘62 and played QB for the Little Lions. He committed $1,000,000 to the renovation and was acknowledged at a game in October. I‘m not going to start some pissing contest. Just his personal opinion. Not mine. Not sure why. Maybe Joe didn’t feel he was D1 material? The reason for not liking Joe would be what?
I'm not either. You brought it up. Therefore, just curious.I‘m not going to start some pissing contest. Just his personal opinion. Not mine. Not sure why. Maybe Joe didn’t feel he was D1 material?
Guy you won’t mention isn’t liked by many around town either.A friend of mine graduated in ‘62 and played QB for the Little Lions. When did you graduate from SCAHS?As a former Little Lion was glad to see a positive second half of the season. Better things next year. Hail Maroon and Gray.
We might not aye be first, but we must win today….The State High fight song is to the tune of anchors aweigh but different lyrics
I don't mind starting a pissing contest. The guy is Larry Beans.Guy you won’t mention isn’t liked by many around town either.
If it is indeed the same guy, I'll give you a like! If the same guy, he's the type of person that can be tough to like, very type A+. Very tough on the exterior and I am sure an extremely tough business negotiator. He's not a "social" friend, we do not go to the same parties, dine together, etc. I like and respect him in the sense he worked from not having two nickels to rub together to becoming extremely successful and wealthy. He and I came from similar child backgrounds, but he became ultra-successful, alas..I got only a fraction of what he does. I do play golf with him several times per year and enjoy his stories.Guy you won’t mention isn’t liked by many around town either.
SJP will beat them by 3 TD..this Lebo team is legit.. Ironically not meaning D1 offers just a solid team..
I remember a Harry Beans. He played baseball for State College in the Centre County League in the 50s. Catcher i believe.I don't mind starting a pissing contest. The guy is Larry Beans.
Here's an article about his donation.
