In 2023 the combined wins/losses of D-town East and D-town West was 18-2. One of those losses was against each other. These 2 schools at one time was school. Aaron and Arlan Harris both played for Downingtown High. Can you imagine how good Downingtown would be if they hadn't split into 2 schools.

You could combine both Downingtown schools with all 3 Central Bucks schools and they still aren't beating St Joe Prep.
Since they can afford it SJP should play in a Catholic Super League with NJ and MD powers. Actually kinda tired of hearing the rest of the state complain every year.

There were some great games when the PCL joined the PIAA, but SJP has taken it to the next level of being a national program. I agree, they should be playing Bergen Catholic next week and CB-South should be playing Nazareth.

The irony is the rest of the privates have not fared well this post season. Even McDevitt (a prohibited favorite) struggled with Manheim Central last weekend.

Put Pettine(Sr and Jr) and Carey coaching the Central Bucks team and I would take that bet....
Note: I would say you don't have to combine the CB schools... the 1998 CB West football team is the most dominant high school team I have ever seen. 30 players on that team squatted 400 pounds or more. Their Oline was the most dominating I have ever seen I believe 4 of them went on D-1 football scholarships. The Bucks’ linemen Ben Carber, 6-3, 310; Jon Wilson 6-3, 255; Joe Wilson 6-4, 280; and Chris Havener 6-5, 285 then the battering ram of Dustin Picciotti at 6-3 235 at FB pounding teams into submission.

Is that the team that beat New Castle 54-0 without attempting a pass. Their offense was an I-Formation with two TE’s. Didn’t really use a WR. H-Back who was really an OL would line up behind G and they’d just blast a hole open. I’ve never seen a high school team that could have beaten them in Pa.

The 1996 Downingtown High team was dominating too. Alan Harris at RB and a Solid passing game led by QB Dan Ellis won the state championship 49-14 over Woodland Hills.

Maybe not a team in Pa. But I've seen many Massillon, Ohio teams that could. Outside of Valdosta, Georgia, Massillon has won more MNCs than any other hs. Paul Brown and Earl Bruce wre just a couple of head coaches who have passed through Massillon.

Correct. They not beat teams physically they destroyed their will. Kids on that team said they could hear players from New Haven after halftime telling their coaches they didn't want to play anymore. The most physical intimidating team I have ever seen. I remember walking back from the snack stand as they came out after halftime and the sheer size of these kids was astounding. Wests weight program was legendary add in the coaching of Carey on the oline and defense with Pettine calling the plays they were just amazing to see the size of the holes they would blow open on offense.

I remember when West went down to play a top team from Florida at walt Disney world believe that game was on ESPN and literally just destroyed them. The coaches from the Florida team they had never.seen kids that physically developed or hit that hard in their years of coaching. West was winning 35-0 at halftime. Felt like they were playing a college team.

If you've never been to Massillon, you have to experience it just once. They play in a 25,000 seat stadium. The town shuts down on Friday night fot the football game. You can Google Massillon Tiger football and read about the great tradition. This year they are 14-0 and ranked 11 by USA Today. Check this out.

Remember as many from SJP will tell you....they don't recruit. I always get a good laugh when I hear that.

My comment was somewhat tic. I saw all those great West teams and attended many playoffs games. That's back when hs football reigned supreme around here. I just feel bad for anyone taking a ride to North Penn Saturday and plucking down $8 to watch a beatdown.

Don’t get me started on private schools competing in PIAA. Total BS. They need to have their own classification. Then they could recruit all they want and no one would really care, but this current format is BS. It isn’t even that they recruit in PA, but some have kids from other states.

The combined record of CB South and CB West is 25-2. Only losses to each other.
