Durkin or Santucci?

Tyler Santucci is Duke’s current DC. He came with Elko from A&M. It will be interesting to see if he returns to A&M with Elko as DC. If he does, that means DJ Durkin would become available. If he does not, it means Santucci would be available. Either would be huge upgrades for us, without question.

Wild card is if Duke promotes Santucci to HC.

Yeah, you never know, but hopefully if he's running Elko's D, he's at least learned some things.

You have to think at least one of those guys becomes available, along with Arnett. Goodness, there are opportunities out there for us to seriously upgrade.

I do think either one would be tremendous upgrades for us. Durkin has the track record and experience factors. Santucci coached stout defenses at A&M last season (without Elko) and this season at Duke (with Elko). He certainly has the pedigree.

Unless the scenario unfolds that Elko retains Durkin and Santucci is retained by Duke as HC, at least one of them should be available.

I really wish Elko get on with his staff. I doubt we'd swing for the fences and pursue Durkin, but Santucci should be attainable if he's available.
