Brewer is playing out of his mind. I thought he would get replaced with a transfer. Hats off to the young man for performing when the pressure was turned up on him. Dude is hitting .560, and the only starter that hasn't struck out yet. Love getting that production at the bottom of the lineup.

LeCroy would be the story if it weren't for Brewer. He's hitting .391. I was a little concerned about his D. He does have 2 errors, but they occurred in the same game. So he's had 7 error free games. Hopefully that was just a bad day.

Petry had a slow start, but is up to .360 and has had more pop lately.

A little concerned with Noland and Tippett. They are a combined 9-52, and Tippett leads the team in SOs with 10. He has struck out 48% of his ABs....not good. I don't know what's going to happen to these two when we get to SEC pitching. You can't get much worse than Tippett right now, so I think you have to see what Ellis has at some point.

Eli Jones has been solid, as has Kimball. Becker has been nasty. I think he takes the Saturday starting gig once he gets 100%.

Brewer impressed me last year and has done nothing but impress me more so far this year.
Clutch hitting with runners in scoring position needs to improve. Too many LOB's in early games and pitching is only going to get tougher.

If we did a pros versus cons list right now, each would be equally long. We need stiffer competition to see what sticks. I am hopeful, but we need a lot of guys, particularly pitching, to step up if we're going to have a good season.
