I wrote an email to Graham Spanier yesterday thanking him for all he does, wishing him good health and happiness going forward, and telling him I thought he did great in his interview with John Ziegler. I got his email address from Chuck Weinstock, Graham's high school friend who is also a friend and former colleague of mine.

He replied almost immediately thanking me for the support and appreciative of the encouragement. Graham is a class act. He said it would be fine for me to share his reply on social media. Here is my email and Graham’s gracious reply.

Subject: Thank you for all that you do

Dear Dr. Spanier,
Chuck Weinstock, a friend and a colleague at the Software Engineering Institute, shared your email address with me. I am a Penn Stater at heart. I received a B.S. in Mathematics from PSU in 1978 and I come from a Penn State family. My father was a Professor at Penn State Harrisburg and my mother, sister and brother were all Penn State graduates. I am writing to you to thank you for all that you do and to wish you good health and happiness going forward.

I listened to your interview with John Ziegler and thought you did a great job and came across as honest to the core with unimpeachable integrity. I liked the way you were very precise in your language when you provided your thoughts and opinions. I am very impressed with the way you have reacted with dignity to the justice system failing you and unjustly convicting you and then incarcerating you for crimes that are clearly bogus.

I have followed the case very closely, reading any relevant information that came to my attention and listening to as many relevant interviews and podcasts as possible. There is no doubt in my mind that you, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz and Jerry Sandusky were all railroaded when in fact you are all 100% innocent. I have made public comments to the Penn State Board of Trustees on four separate occasions and am a frequent commenter on the subject on Twitter, the Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship Facebook page and Blue and White Illustrated (BWI) (a Penn State football message board) with the username francofan.

My number one priority right now is to do everything in my power to help Jerry find justice. I have visited him many times in jail and I hope and pray that he can find some measure of justice in his lifetime. He has held up remarkably well both physically and mentally given his ordeal. Please let me know if there is anything I could possibly do to support your or Jerry’s well-being.

Very truly yours,
Steve Masters

Thank you so much for your wonderful email, Steve. I have read some of your postings and was aware of statements you made to the board of trustees over the years, and I have been so appreciative. I am pleased to have this opportunity via this email to thank you for your support and for all of your efforts. I am grateful to you and so many others for the encouragement I have received and for the time you have devoted to the pursuit of justice in this matter. I know that the others you mention are similarly grateful. A lot of us have suffered through this ordeal together, and that includes so many alumni like you.

Thanks again,
Graham

Where can I find the Ziegler interview? Thanks.

I perused the one article the collegian student wrote about Spanier. He doesn’t want him on campus. Give me a break. The writer claimed to have done research this summer about the entire ordeal. It’s abundantly clear this student slept through his research and perhaps read a few headlines only. If he wants to be a real journalist, he better learn pretty damn quick how to perform real research.

I, for one agree with him. He's done enough damage to PSU. Had he simply informed the proper authorities in 2001 it could have saved PSU millions.

He sounds like he's perfectly ready to join the ranks of the media.

Did he report it to the proper authorities? If not then why wasn't he charged for not reporting it?
If you're this far behind, you've got a lot of catching up to do. See Notpsu.blogspot for details as to why Raykovitz was protected by the AG (so he could testify against the wrongly accused). He was the mandated reporter but facts never matter in this scandal.

Incidentally, I don't know if PSU is still pretending to go after Raykovitz and The Second Mile, but they've done a good job of faking it for a couple years. They get help from Barron, who learned how to fake investigations (see Jameis Winston rape) with help from then FL legislature boss Thrasher, who went on to helm FSU after Barron left. Stinky.

Did Raykovitz testify against Sandusky? Who did he testify against?

Perhaps he should have been. But then again prosecuting him would absolve PSU of any responsibility, thereby frustrating the true aim of the prosecution (beyond, obviously, investigating and charging Sandusky) which was to stick it to Spanier. The AG turned Governor famously had it out for Spanier.

I'll be blunt. I have a lot of doubt that your apparent naivete in this Q&A is legitimate. Your first comment out of the gate states that Spanier has already done enough damage. You must have some knowledge of what has transpired to make such a statement (as uninformed as it is). Then you try to Jethro Bodine with a couple of inane follow-up questions. I'm calling troll alert on you. If I'm wrong, so be it. In that case, go listen to Zeigler podcast, read Ralph Cipriano's many articles on the topic, of do as @Sarasotan suggests.

So you're saying that the Governor, who was behind this. ignored the guilt of Raycovitz, because he wanted to get Spanier and I guess Curley and Schultz too?

Being blunt is ok. You don't think Spanier's part in this scandal caused any harm to PSU. Didn't he go to jail? I'm asking you these questions but you don't have to answer if you don't want to. Who is Jethro Bodine?
