Enjoying The Bowls

I know many of you here think the bowls are meaningless and probably don't bother to watch. As a true college football fan I really enjoy the bowls. Frankly, so far the CFP hasn't been that compelling with four double digit wins for the home teams. I'm sure it will get better now that there are only eight teams. However, I am pumped about some of the upcoming lesser bowl match-ups. Maybe I would feel differently if the Cocks had made the payoffs. Since none of the teams I really care about are in the playoffs, I'm looking forward to watching them play even if it is a "meaningless" bowl.

For me, the best part of the bowls is when one or more that isn't getting any hype turns out to be a great game. Usually something like a 2:00 PM Monday game between Who Are They U and Never Heard of Them State - you know, the Primetime premier matchup.

Kinda like Cracker Jack back in the day - there's a surprise inside! :D

Well I am continuing to watch whenever I can and there have been some great bowl games. So far the CFP has produced four double digit blowouts. I feel sure the next CFP games will be better but since I don’t have a team in the thing I really don’t care who wins. Looking forward to watching NC State and UNC play tomorrow and the Cocks next Tuesday.

I think the games are meaningless - to me at least. I know that the kids who play in them don't think that. It's ok to think that way.

I also enjoy watching the games. It's possible to think they are meaningless and enjoy watching football. Especially teams we don't normally see play each other.

There is a full slate of games today (Saturday). It's raining in Charlotte so I'll be watching most of them.
I always hate it when college football is over. I like the NFL and college basketball but not as much as college football. Also, my interest in pro golf isn't what it used to be. I still love the majors but I'd rather play golf than watch Scottie Sheffler win by six or eight shots.
Happy New Year to all!

One of my favorite ways to waste a cold or rainy day is to watch games in which I have no dog in the fight. These lower to mid-tier bowls have been some really good games this year. Teams do things in bowls that they might not do in regular season. They go for it on 4th on their side of the field, go for two when they don't have to, run trick plays and fake punts and onside kicks, etc. If I don't know much about the team it doesn't matter to me how many opt-outs they have.

Exactly.

I've seen 5 and 6 OT games already - good stuff! 👍
