Just because Morgan Stanley predicts a $25 rise in oil and oil goes up $11 the same day? Say it ain't so....

I say the public should stand up and bully Morgan Stanley a little. Goldman Sachs too.

I agree - true supply and demand isn't the cause of this -- it's the futures market and speculators driving the price up more than anything.

Should it be $1 a gallon - no

But no way it should be even $3

for credit card purchases. It was enacted to prevent use of a stolen card to fill up a string of tanks back when gas was cheaper. Now the limit keeps most truck and SUV owners from being able to fill up one [17n] tank.

Plenty of average folks who own oil stocks. I bet they prefer this to the days in the mid 1980's when oil was $11/barrel and I and about 300,000 of my closest, dearest buddies were laid off from the oil patch.

When it comes to oil prices, be careful what you wish for. When oil prices plunged, Iraq became strapped for cash. So, they produced more oil. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough, so they invaded Kuwait because they had large reserves. That started a chain of events that leads to the **** going on in the Middle East today.

You bought a gas guzzler, now you can deal with it.

If you can make the car and insurance payments (along with the hefty car tag), you should be able to afford the gas. If it's too much, trade it in for something more fuel efficient.

In order for a bubble to burst, demand has to go down drastically. Too many will be forced to buy $5/gallon gas to get to work, transport goods, etc. for demand to go down that much. Not gonna happen. </p>
