Even Croom thinks Rustin is not fit to host a BCS team...

State will fly to and from Ruston on Saturday. It won't spend the night in a hotel. But what if weather causes flight problems? "That's a concern," Croom said. "We'll check the weather. We may have to leave earlier." The decision was the result of not finding adequate accomodations - i.e., a full-service hotel - anywhere near.
It just makes the banner at the top "Ruston, like high school, except it's saturday night", even funnier to me.

..I mean, when teams come to the GTR, they ain't exactly staying at the Bellagio.

Without googling it... does Ruston not have a Hampton, HIE.. something??

full service means, and I am not sure why a full service hotel would be needed to house a team. I would think that hotel in downtown Starkville is a full service hotel. They have meeting space. They have restaurant (I guess it is theirs.)

Clearly, there are adequate hotels in Monroe to house a football team.

LSU stays in Columbus when they play us, and I believe Ole Miss stays in Tupelo.

I would think that the distance between Columbus and Starkville and the distance between Monroe and Ruston would be pretty close to the same.

the person responsible for this dropped the ball and couldn't find anything close until it was too late? Do we have an assistant to the traveling secretary?

"Are you the guy who put us in that Ramada in Milwaukee?"

all that money we saved just by playing there would be blown if we stayed in Ruston.

I don't get it either. WE say in Columbus the night before games.

Yeah it is team policy to help keep our players away from their pistols

Restaurant(s), lounges, etc. As cowbell pointed out, we stay at the Holiday Inn in Columbus the night before. It's mainly to get rid of any distractions. Many incoming teams stay at the Summit and the Hilton Garden Inn in Tupelo. Starkville does not have a quality, full-service hotel right now, at least until the Hilton Garden Inn comes online. Although the Holiday Inn Express is the closest, since it has a restaurant basically in it's parking lot. All of Starkville's nicer hotels are limited service, with minimal meeting facilities, and no restaurants. And you might be surprised to know that a lot of our team meals, not just football, are catered out - many to Columbus catering services for some reason.
