According to the documentary Fastball, Nolan Ryan threw 108.1 if they measured his 100+ mph pitch with today's equipment.
Plus this wasn't a pitch and someone like Bo Jackson or Roberto Clemente with a running start might have thrown balls faster.

I’ve seen that video several times but this is the first time I noticed that Bo Jackson was involved (slightly) in it.
