Honestly though… softball?Who is Bev Smith?
Again.... we had softball long before the SEC or any team in the SEC had softball and fell off the rails fast.
Its way past the recovery time for that not but there is no excuse for that to have happened.

Really? Softball?
I have a hard time believing "everybody" even had an opinion on our softball coach, or knew who Bev Smith even was.
I have literally never seen a single post saying anything about that on this forum, the insiders forum, back in Rivals…never.
Exactly, funny the things people get worked up about. I wish the best for the softball team but I have never been to a softball game and never heard of Bev Smith. Yet we are supposed to heap some great praise on Ray Tanner for firing a coach that had only one winning record in the SEC in 14 years.
I didn't see anybody say Ray wouldn't fire the softball coach, but it made sense that he did. While the team made the NCAAs almost every year - so did every other SEC team in the league most years. She only had one winning season in conference play and only got to Super Regionals once in 14 years which tells me she took the program as far as she could. Not terrible by any means, but when you consider Clemson and Duke started their softball programs in the last decade and they are both much better than USC, you've got to do something different.
