Awesome article…I’ve always liked Steve, and this affirms it. Same with the other people in the article like MRob, Tamba, Zemitis, and Stretch.
We may actually know each other then.
I met Steve as a "punk" kid with spiked hair and an affinity for photography in a photojourn class in the early 80's. An improbable friendship started and continues to this day.
His wife is awesome and his kids were the most well behaved kids I'd ever seen.

From the article:

”He began agitating as early as his first year on campus that Penn State should be teaching crisis communications, which is essentially how to deal with really bad news. Actually, it’s worse than really bad: Manuel believes every business, every school, every nonprofit should have a plan for horrific news, the kind that nobody wants to make a plan for but is, according to Manuel, much more likely than CEOs and PR flaks want to even consider. Or, as Manuel himself describes it: “Crisis communications isn’t what is bad for business. It is what will end your business.””

University leaderers should be required to take his course.

LOL, If you thought he was tough on his students he would eviscerate the Admin. He does not suffer fools lightly and made no attempts to hide his disdain for the people in charge at that time.

Hey BB
I have the perfect seats at the Beaver to note sideline activities. I'll be on the watch for Manuel....

I'll give him a. 🤜🤛 "Semper Fidelis.....Marine"

He'll be easy to spot. He wears a tan vest with a Marine logo on the back.
And he'll probably be right were a big play is about to happen.
He has some kind of weird Zen thingy and just seems to "know" where the action is going to take place. 🤷‍♂️
When I was shooting for LaVie I would just follow him on the field.🤣

Also, the article was right in that he always looks like he’s carrying about 3 cameras and a 30 pound bag.

Here is another good article about him…

The Penn Stater also did a nice piece a few years ago, but not sure if it’s available online.

Does Manuel have ties to temple? Some years ago, I saw him working the free PSU alumni pep rallies at road football games, and he often wore a temple cap.

None that I'm aware. the only hats I've ever seen him wear are ones with a PSU logo or Marines.

Maybe, he knows that if he wears a 'homie' hat at away games he looks like a 'homie' photographer and gets all rights accorded same.
