Not what you hope happens...what you really think will happen?

I'm calling a 23-13 win in Ruston...we kick 2 FG's in the 4th to make it a 10 point win...317 yards of offense...177 on the ground....140 through the air...

but it wouldn't shock me to see us lose. Hopefully, it being the first game, we won't overlook them. I guess it's also possible we score a few more points (I'll believe it when I see it).</p>

like we were playing an SEC team. Instead of holding back some plays for some big time SEC defense to stuff, let`s see what works and get some work in executing the whole package against these first two opponents. I mean when your O has been like ours the last four years you really look a little silly " holding back". 31 -13 Dawgs

to a 24-7 win. I hope we have 4 backs with at least ten carries. I don't want us to show Auburn anything these first two weeks. Also would like to see Lee get 10+ snaps...........

PAIN.

Seriously, I expect a typical Croom win ...27-14. Dixon 118 yards, Carroll 13-23, 175 yards 1 TD, Smith 83 yards.

but I disagree with the way we get there. You're predicting it will be a 4-point game in the 4th quarter, and then we get a couple of field goals to squeeze on by them. I doubt it. I expect a 10 point lead opening up about midway through the second quarter that we pretty much sit on for the rest of the game, perhaps stretching it out by another seven.

For all the flack MSU's offense catches for last year's statistical ranking, keep in mind that La Tech was ranked 85th in total offense (playing a WAC-laden schedule) and 148th in points scored. Not to mention their total defense was ranked 95th in total defense and 123rd in points allowed. So, while I expect a non-blowout, but comfortable win, I also do not see a one score game in the 4th quarter. As a team, I think we're passed that for the La Techs of the world. (By the way, all of these rankings come from CNNSI).

with that assessment. This game scares the crap out of me and right now, I would take a 10 point victory and run like hell.

Running game takes care of bizzzness and passing for 100+ yards keeps them honest. Of course, it could very well be a cluster "17" and they kick our ***. You never know what you get with Mstate ball.

But we played two teams on the level of La Tech last year, I think. Those were Tulane and UAB and we beat Tulane 38-17 and beat UAB as well. I know that our offense is not great, but to think we're gonna score 10 points is taking pessimistic to another level. I think we win 35-14.

who knows,
concerns... they a have a transfer QB from Georgia Tech, that did not fit in with their option game, but is a passer..
& this weekend, I watched a replay of the Liberty Bowl...our offensive game brought me back from Wooly World, to a state of concern.

We win handily. Defense does not give up more than one touchdown and we run run run run.

......is winning the first two games and then seeing what we do against Auburn. That, and any other SEC game, is where we prove whether we're for real or not.

against Mississippi and CUSA opponent last year. Given our offensive output so far in preseason practice and the same coaches I'm not expecting anymore than a win. If we open things up and light up the scoreboard then I'll be pleasantly surprised but I'm not expecting anymore than up the middle, over and over.

Tie game going into the 4th quarter. Lackluster offense again (we barely break 300 yards in total offense) , but State wins. Defense scores a TD for the maroons.

31-13 MSU win. 17-7 at the half. MSU scores two td's to two fg's for them in the second half.
