That rag has been in decline since it was the Patriot News and Nick Horvath was Sports Director and David Jones pulled his strings.
I don't know if I've ever seen 2 local papers, Patriot News and the CDT, that disliked their local sports team so much.
The Patriot News was much, much better when Ronnie Christ was the lead sports writer.
I think their (Patriot news) coverage of PSU was so negative during the "Dark Years" that it was one of the first things to be "cancelled".

Exactly. Since the world could access information in a second online, sites like Pennlive are all about clicks. They are no longer Newspapers with journalists. They are click whores, Nothing more. Advertising rev is determined by clicks. They go after us with a headline aimed to tease with an elementary school level of substance in the article. They know what works and journalism be damned. Quality journalism can still be found in the large city newspapers because they can afford to pay for quality. Just look at the slobs Pennlive puts out there. Jones and Flounders look like they were found sleeping along side of the road just before they show up on one of their blogs. Slobs and whores = Pennlive

When the late Ronnie Christ left, that’s when the **** hit the fan. RC was a little biased at times, however; very respectable. That’s when Horvath(Oklahoma), Jones(OSU) and Flounders(Nebraska) took things over and went south.

It's having some SMUG HICK from ohio coming over to talk down to us, like being an osu fanboy automatically makes you smarter than PSU fans/alumni. I just can't accept being talked down to by someone who is intellectually and culturally inferior, as he clearly is. And he sure had his days in the sun over the last two decades.

They were hating on Paterno and Penn State for years. They were boycotted by readers and advertisers alike.
