The SEC can't allow its brand to remain a joke by reason of this foolishness. I'm eager to see how this materializes.

Good idea, but how to implement?

All the players have to do is a LITTLE better job acting, and you're in a bad place trying to determine what is fake and not.
If they return for the next play, fake?

Correct. Impossible to implement. Unless there is solid evidence of a signal from the sideline and a player subsequently lying down. I predict we'll see a lot of leg cramps, even in cool weather.

My guess is it will be based on conference office review of replay in the days after the game. I would expect the conference to err on the side of player health and safety, only noting those instances where it's obvious the guy is faking (ie, wasn't even limping before he fell to the ground and then hops right up after the training staff arrives). Putting the onus on the coaches means the refs don't have to make a judgment call in the heat of the action.

In another vein, I saw a player go down today and the replay clearly showed his head bounce off the turf. But the trainers were examining his leg as he sat on the field. Made me wonder if they were trying to keep him in the game. The NFL has an eye in the sky looking for possible head injuries and will buzz down and have the player removed. I don't know if the NCAA has that.

Just force the injured player to sit out for the series for the first injury. If he goes down again out for the rest of the quarter if the game stops.

Watching the GA-FL game. Has to be a new record for play stoppages for injury. Unbelievable. Jaguars stadium. Some faking or bad turf?
