Yeah, I agree. The big debate will be the G5 team that makes it in over a 10th ranked LSU.This system has given us great champions and wonderful arguments. I'm going to miss it.
In striving to get the best four teams into the playoff, all they really HAD to do was to make certain that the best team never got left out. As far as I'm concerned, they never did.
They might have missed on one of the four, but never more than that - and never on the best team.
We'll deal with that next year. But that system won't produce near as much drama as this one has. I hate to see it go, just because of days like yesterday and today.Yeah, I agree. The big debate will be the G5 team that makes it in over a 10th ranked LSU.
I hope you're a young manI sure hope that one day, we can get into the 12-team playoff. It sure we would be nice to experience that in the twilight of my life.
ahhh, the lowered expectations that come with being a USC fan!I sure hope that one day, we can get into the 12-team playoff. It sure we would be nice to experience that in the twilight of my life.
We hate to see it go bc we’re not involved in it. I would hate it right now if I were a FSU or UGA fan. We'll deal with that next year. But that system won't produce near as much drama as this one has. I hate to see it go, just because of days like yesterday and today.
Most people aren't involved in it. But that means that most people can enjoy the mayhem. We're losing something precious. We hate to see it go bc we’re not involved in it. I would hate it right now if I were a FSU or UGA fan.
You would be correct. You don't have to go as high as eight, either.Next year is going to be really interesting. 12 his a lot of teams. I would submit that there's never been a team outside the top 8 in the final AP poll that people believed was possibly the best team in the nation.
If we had been undefeated, would we have made it into this playoff?w
ahhh, the lowered expectations that come with being a USC fan!
Yes. We would have won the SEC Championship, been in the playoff, and deserved it - unless we lost our starting QB near the end of the season and lacked a capable backup. That wasn't Tua that FSU put out there. If we had been undefeated, would we have made it into this playoff?
If Bama had lost Milroe to injury and still won the SEC Champ, would they still be in?Yes. We would have won the SEC Championship, been in the playoff, and deserved it - unless we lost our starting QB near the end of the season and lacked a capable backup. That wasn't Tua that FSU put out there.
I don't think so. I still can't believe they were 4th and 31 against Auburn and pulled off a win. I thought they should have made it after the UGA win but they were one impossible play from being out of it.If Bama had lost Milroe to injury and still won the SEC Champ, would they still be in?
It should be the best four teams at the end of the year. FSU certainly wasn't one of the four best teams at the end, regardless of their QB situation. Liberty also did everything possible and they didn't have a QB injury as far as I know.I'm not an FSU fan myself and actually don't like them at all. But FSU did everything they were supposed to do except avoid injury to their starting QB. I thought it was about the body of work during the season and not projection of your future work in the playoffs. If this happened to us, this board would have exploded, reloaded, and exploded again. On a side note, Michigan is no offensive juggernaut, even with their starting QB.
Liberty did go undefeated but was never ranked above 23 in CFP so that would have been some jump for them.It should be the best four teams at the end of the year. Yep! Although I’m sure ESPN will find a way to create angst. Most people aren't involved in it. But that means that most people can enjoy the mayhem. We're losing something precious.
#8 this year is Oregon. They’ve got a puncher’s chance in a playoff. You would be correct. You don't have to go as high as eight, either.
Conceivably, but there will be years that you couldn't say that about the #8 team.#8 this year is Oregon. They’ve got a puncher’s chance in a playoff.
They'll never match what we had this year, as well as a couple of previous occasions in the four-team era.Yep! Although I’m sure ESPN will find a way to create angst.
But they did everything they were supposed to as you mentioned for FSU.Liberty did go undefeated but was never ranked above 23 in CFP so that would have been some jump for them.
