This system has given us great champions and wonderful arguments. I'm going to miss it.

In striving to get the best four teams into the playoff, all they really HAD to do was to make certain that the best team never got left out. As far as I'm concerned, they never did.

They might have missed on one of the four, but never more than that - and never on the best team.

Yeah, I agree. The big debate will be the G5 team that makes it in over a 10th ranked LSU.

I sure hope that one day, we can get into the 12-team playoff. It sure we would be nice to experience that in the twilight of my life.

Well, they will shift the drama to the games themselves. Sure, only a small number of people will care about last team left out. But the football should be good.

We'll deal with that next year. But that system won't produce near as much drama as this one has. I hate to see it go, just because of days like yesterday and today.
We hate to see it go bc we’re not involved in it. I would hate it right now if I were a FSU or UGA fan.

Next year is going to be really interesting. 12 his a lot of teams. I would submit that there's never been a team outside the top 8 in the final AP poll that people believed was possibly the best team in the nation.

Most people aren't involved in it. But that means that most people can enjoy the mayhem. We're losing something precious.

You would be correct. You don't have to go as high as eight, either.

If we had been undefeated, would we have made it into this playoff?
Yes. We would have won the SEC Championship, been in the playoff, and deserved it - unless we lost our starting QB near the end of the season and lacked a capable backup. That wasn't Tua that FSU put out there.

This is one of the first years I can remember where there are several teams outside the top four that could win it all if they were in.

The committee got it right but if this were a 6 or 8 team field, I could see UGA or Oregon making a run.

If Bama had lost Milroe to injury and still won the SEC Champ, would they still be in?

I don't think so. I still can't believe they were 4th and 31 against Auburn and pulled off a win. I thought they should have made it after the UGA win but they were one impossible play from being out of it.

I'm not an FSU fan myself and actually don't like them at all. But FSU did everything they were supposed to do except avoid injury to their starting QB. I thought it was about the body of work during the season and not projection of your future work in the playoffs. If this happened to us, this board would have exploded, reloaded, and exploded again. On a side note, Michigan is no offensive juggernaut, even with their starting QB.

It should be the best four teams at the end of the year. FSU certainly wasn't one of the four best teams at the end, regardless of their QB situation. Liberty also did everything possible and they didn't have a QB injury as far as I know.

Liberty did go undefeated but was never ranked above 23 in CFP so that would have been some jump for them.

The money that the 12 team playoff will generate will be off the chart and schools will benefit greatly from this. But, they want us to pay for players, now that’s funny.
