A magnificent physical specimen with great measurable features and a 4 star wide receiver recruit. Unfortunately it appears that no one ever bothered to check if he could run crisp patterns and actually catch the ball. Anyway I wish him well wherever he lands.
I think every player that enters the portal does not have a destination till they get there. If they did, that would mean there were recruiting of players who are on team rosters. I believe that is against the rules. That was the famous situation that Penn State went through in 2012 where the NCAA permitted as a special case teams to recruit PSU players who were on our roster.
George a 4* with a lot of the measurables is kind of hard to explain what held him back. At the start of his career he looked very strong. I mean beyond the 90 yd reception v Kent, he just looked solid. I really thought he was going to become a key part of the equation and be a Godwin like player. Just did not happen for him, but not sure what took him off the rails.
As I posted on the other board, I also thought he would end up being a very good player here. While he's from a very talent rich area of Prince George's County he played at one of the smaller schools that's out in the Sticks, so he did not play the same level of competition as some of the other top-notch players. He was easily able to run by people and jump over them to make catches. Also, his level of coaching in high school was very low as well, so he probably had a lot to learn technique-wise.
