I wonder if there is some type of pension package, since its doubtful a player or the League will last three or four yrs.

There will be an obvious gap in talent between the NFL and the XFL. That means of course that the pay will be lower in this league, but it still provides a way of making a living for a lot of people who like the sport. Some quarterbacks are rumored to make around $200.000 dollars, although that is not the reality for most.The average salary for XFL players is expected to be near $60.000 from training camp to the end of the season, according to ESPN. Those payments are said to be of $5.000 per week, though they will include a $1.000 bonus for each win. Another advantage is the benefits package estimated by the league to be worth $20.000, per Kevin Seifert. Maybe the opportunity to showcase their talent could be the best return for the players.
Some football is better than no football. Wish they would play in smaller venues. These tiny crowds in decent sized stadiums just looks like sh*t.
They did a pretty good job of not showing the crowd except low, tight shots where the seats were mostly full. Except when tracking punts and kicks which spilled the beans.
They also had the crowd volume cranked up in the broadcast. Sounded like a nice crowd. Might've been canned audio.
Having said all that, the 4th qtr of today's was awesome. McCarron lead 2 TD drives in last 3 minutes to win.
Cool rule is after a score you can either kick off, try an onside kick, or go for a 4th and 15 play from your own 25 yard line. The did the latter and ended up winning the game.
