West Pittston? Why, that's just across the river from Pittston....home of the greatest gravy ever tasted by one Joseph Vincent Paterno, when he stopped in to say hello to Mrs. Cefalo.....it was even better than Mrs. Cappelletti's.

This DeLuca kid better know what he is getting into. There is stiff gravy competion in that part of NEPA.

I'll agree that they know a thing or two about pasta (and pizza) in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties, but the height of their culinary game is pierogies and kielbasa.

DeLuca knows what's up. Wyoming Area HS, where he starred, borders West Pittston.

Pittston is know as "The tomato capital of the world" and has an annual Tomato Festival with authentic food, live entertainment and of course a parade because, you know, NEPA. They really did a nice job cleaning up downtown Pittston in recent years. West Pittston still looks the same as 50 years ago, and still floods when the river gets really high.

Depends on whether you live above or below the tracks. I'm luckily above the tracks.

On another note, Pizza Lovin wings are very underrated. The Hooter flavor are fantastic!
Pizza Lovin is on my double secret probation list. Ordered pizza and wings takeout one night weeks ago. Get to the register and it's cash only now. No CC accepted. Luckily I had some cash on me which is rare. Pulled the we have an ATM machine if needed. That's BS to me.

Only homemade church pierogies and kielbasa from (fill in the blank because everyone has a favorite place).
PACC
Polish American Citizens Club in Lorain, OH. My principal "awarded" the students with a longer recess and then took teachers to the PACC during Lent. My goodness! Pierogies and fish. Admittedly, we did not feel like teaching on those Friday afternoons.

My wife makes killer pierogies and when we are out, Mrs. B’s from Olyphant are terrific. They are sold frozen at Bosak’s Meats in Olyphant along with their award winning kielbasi (smoked and fresh)

Yeah, or church fish fry’s and/or spaghetti dinner fundraisers at the fire hall/American Legion. But that’s Beaver County…

I'll have to check them out. I like Bosak's fresh cut bacon. Kutsop's keilbasa was my go to until they closed. I really like Murrazi cheddar jalapeño. That's in @WanderingSpectator territory.

Growing up, my grandma used to volunteer for the pierogie sale at the Lithuanian Church on Main Ave. and they were the best I ever had.

If you up around Hazelton , check out two three kielbasas from Tarone brothers . I always try and get my Easter meats from Bobby . Amazing flavor .

You all make me jealous giving names of local groceries. Sounds like interesting and good foods. We shop at Meijer, Super Value and grab some things at Dollar General. Nothing unique like you folks get.

We always make our own sauce (not gravy), but the best jar sauce I’ve found is La San Marzano brand. Their Arrabbiata is fantastic.

I like this one......... In the Costco sized jar apparently. Also has San Marzano tomatoes.

I’ll definitely look for it. I don’t recall seeing it out here.

Edit: Looks like my local grocery store carries it. $7.99 for 25oz jar of either the Garlic Marinara or Tomato Basil. I’ll just add my own red pepper.
