FC: Micah Parsons gives credit to CJF for being prepared for the NFL

Why PSU players have an easy transition to the NFL

"They're structured and disciplined," Parsons said. "I was so prepared because of coach Franklin. He made sure you attended meetings, paid attention to detail — basically coached you to be a pro. He could easily be a NFL coach. His whole program was designed for you to prepare for the next level, whether it's on the field or off the field."

That's all good and fine Micah, but many PSU fans want to just WIN baby! ;)

I was listening to Kiper today and he was talking about how how Dotson is a fine young man on top of being a great player. He referenced CJF as saying the same and thinks he may go above Olave in the draft. He also said if the Chiefs take him with their pick they could be unstoppable on offense. The haters can hate but our players that get drafted seem to be fine young men with their head on their shoulders and that's a testament to our coaches.

I guess if Franklin's job is to prepare players for the NFL, he's....doing great? Is that why he has a top ten salary?

Sigh.

If you look at it from an academic view, yes it's his job to prepare student athletes for their future career. However, you and I know that's BS. His real job is to make the University as much money as possible.

I’m being facetious - but, as much as I love Penn Star players showing well in the NFL I’d trade them all for wins on the field. Ah well. Have to hang your hat on something right? ;)

It's all about expectations. Is Dabo's job safe if he has 2 more "unsatisfactory" seasons?

this is huge. With as much as the game is becoming more and more of a business, having more of these “professionals” in the league is a great benefit to recruiting. Of course having the O ROY in 18 and D ROY this year helps a ton. But having theses guys not only play well but be outspoken ambassadors for CJF and PSU…. This stuff is gonna pay off big in the next few years.

I don’t get it.
I wish Bushwood was still around so that he could EXPLAIN it to you. We need his spark to "inspire" you. That reminds me of the time he was arguing about chemistry with a guy who, like you, was a chemist. I remember telling the guy not to worry about it. I wrote something to the effect that if Linus Pauling were involved in the discussion Bushwood would insult him and his knowledge of chemistry.

back in the day Bushwood and I got into a discussion about this play. I said #59 had to be an ineligible down field, he said no way. you decide. This was one of our first RPO's I believe.

the ball is at the 15, #59 is at the 11-12 yd line at the time of the throw.

Bushwood may have had a point, other than the one at the top of his head. NCAA rule allows OLs to be no more than three yards downfield.

He's currently entangled in one of his endless arguments on the other site's Wrestling Board. The most recent responses to his convoluted rationalization of one of his errors - "You are The only one that brought this up….you may want to seek treatment."

So people are still recommending that he seek treatment.

"You're just the one who said Rivera "didn't wrestle at 41 last year."

So people are still reminding him that he was the one who made the error.
