While obviously great news, especially with the development of some of the younger guys after PJ's injury - do we know what the (rumored) injury was, as well as recovery time? Are we looking at full-go PJ in August , or hoping he can return to form by midseason? I guess his impact depends on how severe the injury is + the total recovery time/ability to get back to pre-injury form.

This is big. It will make the DTs solid and deep. Hopefully, Beamon and Issac are back next year also.
I wonder what is up w/Beamon? I hope he stays and I would like to see him move to DE. He has great quickness, but playing DT he can get worn down since he has not been able to get around the 300lb level we need @ DT.

Didn't CJF take two (2) DL men and convert them to OL in 2014? That worked out pretty well.

over the years we have taken guys in both directions. in this case we need both OL and DL.

great to see PJ back but again the injury is just not been ;confirmed which is kind of amazing in the Twitter era that someone has not pushed it out there. based on how he went of the field at Iowa and later was on crutches, it would seem to be some type of knee injury. if he can rehab through spring and summer, how he is close to be back where he was at start of 2022 season. I know technically he could come back in 2023 as super senior but he likely wants to get a clean bill of health and show some more film in 2022.

no idea what is up with Beamon, but he has great potential. hope he comes back.

outside of PJ we are a smaller group. not many guys who can play the fire hydrant 1 technique. we need some more of that. against the run heavy BIG teams we also need beef on DE.

"Worked out pretty well" in that otherwise they didn't have enough offensive linemen to have a one-deep depth chart? Sure.
Other than that, not so much.

It still remains one of the Modern Wonders of College Football that Moorhead put together that offense - that averaged 38 points per game, including 38+ points in its last seven games, including Wisconsin, USC, Iowa, and Michigan State, among others.
With a starting offensive line of: Ryan Bates, Freshman, Steve Gonzalez, freshman, Brian Gaia, backup defensive tackle pressed into duty as an offensive center, Connor McGovern, freshman, Chaz Wright, prep school recruit (who committed to Penn State during the time when Penn State didn't have a head coach, and, maybe, had other offers from Connecticut and some FCS schools) - and really no back-ups behind them to speak of.

Talk about doing more with less. Chicken Feathers into Filet Mignon.
