Honestly, I believe the Chargers effort was to keep some fan interest in a football town where they are either the third or fourth option - after USC, the Rams, and possibly the Bruins. (Although the Chargers do have fans).

Probably also going after a younger audience who is into all of this stuff.

It's not for you and me.

My 22-year-old son made a point of watching it and showing it to me. He would otherwise have zero interest in an NFL team’s schedule release — especially for a west coast team.
