Moonlighting came on TV when I was a student at PSU and I have basically grown up with his movies. A truly great actor. I feel for him and his family.
+1. I think Moonlighting was one of the first to "break that 4th wall" type production. I loved the pseudo screwball Grant/Hepburn vibe it went for.

Somebody at work mentioned that he was an extra in a courtroom scene in The Verdict.

correct. his first three appearances in movies (big screen or TV) were uncredited. He was an extra in The First Deadly Sin in 1980, an extra in Ein Guru kommt (TV movie) in 1980, and an extra in the courtroom in The Verdict in 1982. His first credit was in an episode of Miami Vice in 1984. He appeared in an episode of The Twilight Zone in 1985 as well as appearing that year in the pilot and first season of the TV show that brought him his initial fame, Moonlighting. In 1988, he had his first staring role in a big screen movie in Die Hard, and from that point on his career was a lot of successes.

Bertold Brecht was actually one of the first (if not the first) to do so--back in the early part of the 20th Century (think Threepenny Opera and "Mack the Knife"--that's why there's a reference to Lotte Lenya in the English translation). Guess I did learn something from Ger. 431. Interestingly enough I have a friend who actually knew him as she was an actress at his theater in East Berlin when she was a teen.

I have to admit I am crushed by this news. Like a few others here I was at Main Campus in the mid/late 80s and Moonlighting was a weekly must see in my fraternity house. Then Die Hard hit the theaters soon after I graduated and I was hooked. To me he was the top action/drama actor of my generation. 67 is way too young obviously... seems like everyone knew about this for at least a year and kept him working. Not sure the reasoning there, hopefully he wanted to keep working to try and stay fresh, or it was his great love and he wanted to do it as ling as he could. I think it is a long goodbye now for his family.

Bruce Willis diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. He was previously diagnosed with aphasia. Totally sucks. One of my favorite actors.

“Nobody’s Fool” is one of my favorite films, not the least because I could see just what an extraordinary actor Bruce Willis is. I had no idea. The way he and Newman played off each other, sublime.
