Great a high volume arms dealer is back on the streets. Smuggling assault weapons in to this country. Anyone who thinks that is good news? It contrary to the political statements of candidates who beg for gun control.

I’m sure there is an understanding that this won’t happen.

I thought more people with guns is a good thing? That is the message that is always put out....so I guess you're saying this is a good thing.

Hopefully, she'll decide to come out of the locker room and stand and sing the national anthem from here on out.

I hope more people in the stands at sporting events do the same. Instead of eating, drinking, talking, looking at their phone/texting, walking around, going to the bathroom or otherwise not being bothered with the whole thing.

It seems that the newer generations are being taught that our country ain't so great and so they don't care. It's sad really.

I have no issues with the government working to secure here release. I do find it hypocritical that these people talk about hun control then release a guy convicted of smuggling a high volume of assault weapons in to this country.

So the message is a contradiction, but these are the same people who hire 87k IRS agents. The IRS who has stockpiled more arms and ammunition at this point an the Army.

Well thankfully you seem well sourced.

False. The Internal Revenue Service will not be hiring 87,000 armed agents. Job adverts posted on social media are for special agents in the IRS’s Criminal Investigation unit. There are currently about 2,100 special agents in this unit, and there were 81,600 total IRS employees in fiscal year 2021.

Russians were not going to do a two for one trade again. They definitely made out in this one. I hope no one is killed moving forward from this guy and hopefully he just fades away. Maybe Russians take him out as well.

I don't think that is the case. I think the newer generation with access to more unfiltered informaton, can look at the United States far more critically than other generations. As a guy who grew up towards the end of the Vietnam War, the current "newer generation" is probably as close to that "newer generation" than any other in my lifetime.

But, every time I hear statements like yours, it reminds me of this snippet....

(although this was done a few years ago).

You mean like the "unfiltered" information found on twitter before Musk bought it? Got it.

I feel horrible for Whelan and his family. Lord help her if she ever pulls her protest shenanigans courtside again or fails to come out. I am not holding my breath though on it.

Audit reports showed over 50k weapons and 5million rounds of ammunition. So something doesn’t add up. We’ll agree to disagree. Enjoy my friend, we don’t need to continue this type of discussion on here. 👍🏻

Micah has a tweet going viral. Good on him. Maybe it can create the awareness (which is lacking) and place some pressure on government to really try to bring Whelan home.

It's great she's been released. She committed a crime in a foreign country which isn't friendly toward the US so good on her for getting out. The PR campaign in the US certainly helped force our government's hand. The Russians were no doubt happy to unload Griner. A tall black lesbian isn't someone they want in their county, even as a prisoner.

OTOH, Whelan apparently did not commit a crime in a foreign country which isn't friendly toward the US which makes him a political prisoner. Two US administrations have failed to get him released. There is no PR uproar. His family must privately wonder what the hell is going on.
The response of Whelan’s family to the Griner news was beyond gracious. Yes, he’s a political prisoner, no “apparently” about it.

Any American who visits Russia when they don’t need to is flat out certifiably nuts. Let Russia rot.

You opened the can of worms, but clearly you didn't really read to much into it which is fine. Maybe read up some more on the division that has those weapons, the size of it, and the history of buying ammunition. Maybe you'll learn something my friend.....check your sources being one of them. Good stuff. (y)

My question is why does the IRS need ANY armed agents?

The special agents that carry are considered sworn "law enforcement" agents. So I also imagine some of the people they track down aren't wearing suits and ties and hiding behind lawyers...but again this was all drummed up by some bad reporting and social media duping.

Yeah, a arms smuggler for one who smuggled a small quantity of cannibis into the country. Great trade, like trading Tom Brady for Sean Clifford. You couldn't get Whelan too? That's just ridiculous. So we put a gun smuggler who is known to sell to US enemies back on the streets for a person who smuggled a small amount of cannibis into their country? Russians are laughing at us all day today. Listen, I get it , she was not illegally detained , like some will have you believe, but her sentence was excessive, even for Russia's standards. But you couldn't make a better trade than that? Great job...............

I see you believe the nonsense reports by anyone with an agenda. As if the media hasn’t been spinning turds into roses for years to protect our crooked government.
Like I said we have to just disagree since it’s obvious we don’t have the same views

If by agenda you mean pointing out that they have existed for decades....you caught me.

Never know; the government/flag which she protested (and has every right to) is also the same one that prevented her from rotting away in a gulag. She may come to show appreciation for that during the National Anthem. Or not, I don't care either way.

The agenda is not yours it’s the media’s.
I do most of our yearly work with the government. So of this work is top secret at places most Americans don’t think exist. I can guarantee some has been lied about and covered up for years. No agency is more hypocritical than our own government and most of the snakes involved in it.
